DJ Tanz

I started going to house parties when I was fourteen.  Back then the music was House and Good Hip Hop.  We would dance until five in the morning.  Dancing was kool back then.

I started clubbing when I was sixteen.  The clubs were Odell’s, Gatsby’s, Fantasies, and about ten more.  People came to hear the DJ and feel the sound system.  I grew up listening to some of the best deejays in the world and didn’t even know why at the time……

It wasn’t until age eighteen that I realized that DJ’ing and producing would be my life’s calling. (to find out how you have to wait for the “full feature documentary” soon to be released).

I started my career performing at college, house and even apt. parties on the damn third floor.   I specialized in “Old School” and House at the time, but I quickly realized that being versatile was the key to success.  I can play anything that makes people dance.

After a few years spent practicing and building up street credibility, I begin to land residencies at different clubs around town.  I eventually hit the “big time” landing a daily old school mix show from 12pm to 1pm on WERQ 92Qjams.  After five years of holding down that and other mix shows, I would leave 92Q for the newly arrived X-105.7.  A few years later I would  find myself with the only mixshow in the country broadcast live from a niteclub on satellite radio.  I hosted DJ Tanz Live on “The City” every Friday night on XM satellite channel 67 from 11pm to 1am for the next three years.

At present, I am currently holding down three weekly residencies at The Velvet Rope Club (Fridays), Edens Lounge (Wednesdays) and Lux Lounge (Sundays).

I am also the owner of DJ Tanz LLC, which is a full service DJ, Sound, and Production co.  I perform at corporate events, concerts, private parties, wedding receptions…. Etc.  I also perform and send dj’s to perform all over the country. We even provide sound systems to local dj’s and promoters.

My career has been a natural evolution and all signs now lead to music production.  “Tanz Tracks” coming to a hit record on your radio…. Very Soon.

Peace!
